An excellent native Carex, socialis forms elegant clumps of green in a variety of locations. In late spring graceful flower spikes appear above the foliage. This sedge expands slowly and adds textural contrast to a planting. Especially tolerant of wet sites so it’s a good option for areas that flood or are boggy part of the year. It is deer resistant and very drought tolerant.
