Darkest of all the butterfly bushes. Very deep purple to nearly-black flowers from July to frost. 'Black Knight' is a deciduous shrub with a dense arching, spreading habit and typically grows 6–8' tall if not cut back in late winter. If it is cut back it reaches about 4–5'. Flowers are fragrant and, of course, butterflies are frequent visitors.
